KensingtonVision was established as a not for profit community interest company in 2007 to develop innovative community media projects and training initially within the Kensington and Fairfield area but with the ability to work in other disadvantaged areas on Merseyside. The group are currently working on two projects: a full time community radio station,and a community newspaper.
Due to popular demand the group used a £2,000 Trust funds grant to run a short term radio project in the Kensington & Fairfield area during Respect Week and the 12 Days of Christmas Festival. The project included training for children, young people and adults in radio production and presentation skills. It also help build basic skills (writing and numeracy), IT skills, self confidence, self motivation, interview and language skills.
